Got Self-Sabotage?
As a high performance entrepreneur, I know first hand the struggles of achieving and maintaining the highest levels of performance in both life and business. I’ve experienced amazing wins at times and not-so-great losses at others.
Oftentimes, many high performance entrepreneurs shine in business but fall short in other areas like relationships, health, and family. High performance is not just about achievement at a high level, it is about sustained achievement and performance at the highest levels. It is one thing for a person to shoot up to the top of the game. The real challenge is remaining king of the hill once ascended. And for many years, this was something I struggled with. I was consistently achieving incredible feats in business but was not successful in sustaining my success.
This is attributed largely to the fact that I was plagued by challenges that were all centered around self-sabotage. I knew what I needed to do in my business yet struggled to get myself to do what was required. Every day was a constant battle to overcome self-doubt and the voice of my inner critic. That was until I elevated my self awareness through self-discovery and then self-education to learn how to overcome the self-sabotage.
Self-sabotage is the inevitable consequence of any limiting beliefs that are incongruent with our goals. And what I discovered is the source of self-sabotage is not in what we do but rather, it's the beliefs that are behind them. It was a major turning point for me when I became aware that the limiting beliefs I was carrying steemed from my childhood. I was being held back by the belief I would never be good enough and needed to achieve things in order to be love. Once I became aware of these limiting beliefs, I was able to release them and make a new choice as an adult. The choice that I know I am already enough and that I choose to have fun creating awesome results and enjoying the process of thriving in my vocation.
And as it turns out, I’m not alone. Many high performance entrepreneurs struggle with self-sabotage that keeps them from their big goals. And as a high performance entrepreneur, chances are you’ve encountered one or more limiting beliefs on your journey.
Here are six of the most common limiting beliefs that high performance entrepreneurs face:
1. Overreaching
2. Fear of Failure
3. Debilitating Perfectionism
4. Fear of Success
5. Imposter Syndrome
6. Boredom & Distraction
Recognize any?
It’s actually not a bad thing to be grappling with any of these challenges. They are often a sign that you are getting after your goals and working to be your best self. However, things take a turn for the worse if we become engulfed in any of these limiting beliefs and let them overtake our forward progress. What’s most important is not so much which limiting belief shows up, it’s what one does when it appears.
The fact of the matter is that limiting beliefs keep us from our big goals. They literally stand right in front of our path and prevent us from bridging the gap from where we are to where we are going. The good news is, you can now transcend any limiting belief and get on track to achieving your goals.
